In the world of AI – What do we teach our kids?

As an educator, I understand theĀ concerns of parents about preparing your child for a future with AI.
While some tech experts suggest basic programming may become less valuable, what remains essential are uniquely human capabilities that AI cannot replicate.
I encourage our students to:
– Follow subjects and teachers that spark genuine passion, as curiosity and intrinsic motivation are foundations for lifelong learning
– Develop human-centered skills like creativity, empathy, critical thinking, and judgment across all subjects
– Learn to analyze, interpret, and connect information rather than just access it
– Understand that meaningful learning requires effort – recent MIT research showed students using AI learned quickly but struggled to apply knowledge in new contexts
Rather than chasing specific technical skills that may become obsolete, we’re focusing on building strong foundations of knowledge while nurturing the human qualities that will allow your child to work effectively alongside AI throughout their lives.
The future requires adaptable thinkers who can learn continuously, not just specialists in today’s technology.
